Let’s work together to build more balance in your life
Compassionate therapy for individual adults in the Hudson Valley, and telehealth across New York state
Availability notice as of May 2025:
I’ll be accepting new clients starting in September 2025, and will open up my online booking widget once I have availability.
If you’re looking to start therapy prior to September, then I’d recommend searching on your insurance carrier’s website/portal, Psychology Today, or Therapy Den for therapists with more immediate availability.
Welcome!
I’m Cailin, a trauma informed therapist, trained in EMDR, with a passion for helping young adults and women heal from anxiety, trauma, and relationship patterns that may be holding them back from living their fullest lives. I’m glad that you’ve arrived here and are taking a step towards prioritizing your own self care.
I provide individual therapy sessions over telehealth, and have been trained in evidence-based therapies such as EMDR, DBT, and CBT. Together, we'll work on developing coping skills and strengthening your relationship with yourself to bring more balance into your life.
If it sounds like we might be a good fit, I would love to hear from you. Click the button below to schedule a consultation through my secure, online platform.
**Please note that I won’t be accepting new clients until September 2025
Background and training
EMDR
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy. EMDR was developed over 30 years ago by Francine Shapiro, and is an evidence based treatment for trauma and PTSD. During EMDR sessions you will focus on the painful memory while also experiencing bilateral stimulation (usually eye movements or tapping) and this helps to make the memory feel less intense, and less emotionally charged. Most people feel better in 6 to 12 sessions, depending on the complexity of what we are working on.
For more info, please visit EMDRIA.
DBT
DBT stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The primary focus of DBT is to help you learn how to live in the moment, better manage your emotions, improve relationships and communication with others, and develop healthy coping skills. DBT work includes developing concrete coping skills, and examining your patterns of thinking and behaving.
CBT
CBT stands for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. CBT is a type of therapy that is primarily focused on helping you learn to challenge unhelpful ways of thinking that negatively impact how you feel and behave. Just because you have a thought doesn’t make it true. I use CBT techniques to help you develop a healthy perspective on how you think.
Meet Juniper
Juni is my four legged, therapeutic partner. She is a trained and certified therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International.
I’ve transitioned to a fully telehealth practice for the time being, and so Juni may make an occasional appearance (or upon request!) to provide comfort and emotional support.
Juni continues to practice her obedience skills, and so far has obtained titles of AKC Canine Good Citizen, and AKC Trick Dog-Advanced (she knows over 20 tricks!)
